After long-time Iowa Women's Basketball Head Coach Lisa Bluder retired following the 2023-2024 season, multiple questions swirled about the program's future. The questions were quickly answered after the program promoted long-time assistant coach Jan Jensen.

In her first season at the helm of the Hawkeyes, Jensen guided the Hawkeyes to a 23-11 (10-8 Big Ten) record and an NCAA Tournament berth for the seventh consecutive season.

The roster will look vastly different this season following the departures of Lucy Olsen (Washington Mystics), Sydney Affolter (Graduate assistant), Addison O'Grady (graduation), AJ Ediger (graduation), and Aaliyah Guyton (transfer portal).

The Hawkeyes added a solid 2025 recruiting class, including Addie Deal, Journey Houston, and Layla Hays. The program also added two talented transfers from the portal, Chazadi "Chit-Chat" Wright and Emely Rodriguez.

The coaching staff has also seen some turnover during the offseason. LaSondra Barrett was brought in to replace Raina Harmon, who left to take the head coaching position at Florida International University.

Former player and coach Tania Davis also left the program, but the details of her exit have not been released. June 2, Jensen hired her replacement.

On Monday, Jasmyn Walker was hired to join Jensen's coaching staff. Walker spent last season as an assistant coach at George Washington University.

Before joining the Iowa coaching staff, Walker made stops at George Washington (2024-2025), Purdue Fort Wayne (2023-2024), Butler (2022-2023), Ferris State (2020-2022), and Davenport University (2019-2020).

Walker's first experience in Division I came during the 2023-2024 season when she was an assistant coach for Purdue Fort Wayne. She helped guide the Mastedons to a 23-12 record and a spot in the Women's NIT Tournament.

The 23 wins tied the Purdue Fort Wayne program record.

Jensen is extremely excited for Walker to join the staff and said the following statement in a press release about her hiring:

"Jas is a bright, young coach with a skillset that will compliment our staff so well."
