The Iowa Women's Basketball program heads into a transition period as the offseason continues. The Hawkeyes lost four seniors, including Lucy Olsen (Washington Mystics), Sydney Affolter (graduation), AJ Ediger (graduation), and Addison O'Grady.

Iowa is returning starters Hannah Stuelke, Kylie Feuerbach, and super sub Taylor Stremlow to the squad next season. The Hawkeyes also have an extremely talented 2025 freshman class.

Five-star prospect Addie Deal, and four-star prospects Layla Hays and Journey Houston join the squad next season.

Iowa also lost assistant coach Raina Harmon after she took the head coaching position at Florida Gulf Coast University. Former Georgia Tech assistant coach LaSondra Barrett replaced her, and it is already paying dividends.

The Hawkeyes added former Georgia Tech guard Chazadi "Chit-Chat" Wright from the transfer portal. Wright followed her former coach, LaSondra Barrett, to Iowa.

Before transferring to Iowa, Wright made an immediate impact for Georgia Tech in her freshman season. She stuffed the stat sheet, averaging 7.2 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 33 games (12 starts).

Wright is a pure point guard who loves getting her teammates involved. Last season for the Yellow Jackets, she had five or more assists in six games and had seven assists in two games.

She can also score the basketball, reaching double-digit points in 10 games last season. Before joining the Yellow Jackets, she was a highly ranked recruit from Atlanta. ESPN ranked Wright as a four-star prospect and the No. 49 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

Wright's addition allows the Hawkeyes to move Addie Deal to the off-guard or forward position and gives them a pure passer to run the offense.
