Iowa Women's Basketball is in full offseason mode after finishing the 2024-2025 season. The Hawkeyes finished with a 23-11 (10-8 Big Ten) record and made the NCAA Tournament field for the seventh consecutive season.
First-year Head Coach Jan Jensen had a successful first season in the post-Caitlin Clark and Lisa Bluder era. She guided her team to the NCAA Tournament and was named the Spalding Maggie Dixon Division I Rookie Coach of the Year.
In year two, Jensen must find replacements for seniors Lucy Olsen (Washington Mystics), Sydney Affolter (graduation), AJ Ediger (graduation), and Addison O'Grady. Jensen also lost assistant coach Raina Harmon to Florida Gulf Coast University.
On Friday, Jensen and the Iowa program found Harmon's replacement.

Iowa added LaSondra Barrett to their coaching staff after she spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach for Georgia Tech. Barrett joins the Iowa coaching staff with a decade of coaching experience.
Before joining the Hawkeyes coaching staff, Barrett made stops at Georgia Tech (2023-2025), Houston (2019-2022), Louisiana Tech (2018-2019), and Florida International (2017-2018).
Barrett is also an elite recruiter, serving as Georgia Tech's director of recruiting for the 2024-2025 season. After losing Harmon, Barrett can step into her role with similar experience in player recruitment and development.
Barrett has deep ties to the South after her time with Georgia Tech and Houston, and this could be a huge benefit for the Iowa program.
In a press release announcing the hire, Barrett noted she is excited to join the Iowa program.
