Ben McCollum, take a bow!

The Iowa Men's Basketball program has had an amazing weekend, locking up two talented transfers within a day of each other.

Iowa added talented Illinois State transfer guard Ty'Reek Coleman on April 17 and followed that up by adding seven-foot-three Saint Mary's transfer center Andrew McKeever.

Both signings solved glaring issues for the program, and they might not be done yet.

McCollum has done so much for the program in a little over a year, and Hawkeye fans are completely throwing their support behind their new center.

McKeever definitely checks a lot of boxes for the Hawkeyes, giving them a solid interior defender and rebounder to add to the mix.

"Mount McKeever" not only sounds like a gold mine for Raygun when he arrives on campus, but it is also a very apt description of Iowa's new seven-foot-three big man.

McKeever is a large human being, and he was a "monster" on the glass last season, leading the WCC in rebounding with 9.2 per game.

This is huge, both literally and figuratively. Iowa's center depth looks a lot better now with McKeever, Cam Manyawu, and Trevin Jirak. This could push Manyawu to the bench, or if McCollum wants him to start during his senior year, McKeever is a great backup option.

McKeever's signing is a welcome sight for Hawkeye fans who had been waiting for the program to make a move before the transfer portal window closed.

Iowa will get at least two seasons of McKeever, assuming everything works out, and his signing helps the program in multiple ways. It gives them an immediate fix to the size problems that plagued them last season, while also giving them time to develop Trevin Jirak if they think he's their center of the future

The excitement for next season is already building, and we can't wait to see what else McCollum has up his sleeve.
