After losing Navon Shabazz, the only commitment in the 2026 recruiting class, the Iowa Men's Basketball program had to pivot quickly to other prospects.

Ben McCollum and his staff have made multiple offers to prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, including Iowa's No. 1 overall prospect Arafan Diane, three-star prospects Quinn Costello, Javonte Floyd, and Quentin Coleman.

Iowa also re-offered four-star prospect Tristan Reed after McCollum took over for Fran McCaffery.

The Hawkeyes also picked up a huge commitment from four-star prospect Trey Thompson. Thompson was initially a 2026 prospect but reclassified to the 2025 class so he could join the squad this season.

As the 2025-2026 basketball season gets closer, the Hawkeyes continue searching for future talent, and extended an offer to a 2026, six-foot-nine prospect from Washington.

Ethan Harris announced that he received an offer from Iowa Men's Basketball. Harris currently attends Camas High School in Camas, Washington.

According to Hawkeyes Wire, Harris was named to the All-Region Boys Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 18.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game as a junior last season.

Harris also played for Select Basketball over the summer, averaging 10.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and 1.4 steals per game.

Harris continues to shoot up recruiting boards due to his athletic ability, rebounding prowess, and developing long-range shot.

247 Sports composite ranks Harris as a four-star prospect, Washington's No. 2 overall prospect, the No. 24 power forward prospect, and the No. 150 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

Rivals Industry ranks Harris as a three-star prospect, Washington's No. 4 prospect, the No. 47 power forward prospect, and the No. 249 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

With no prospects committed in the 2026 class, Harris would be a huge pickup for McCollum and his staff, but the program will have to outduel over 15 programs for Harris's services.
