Iowa Men's Basketball is still attempting to replenish the 2026 recruiting class following the departure of long-time Head Coach Fran McCaffery. After McCaffery's departure and Ben McCollum's hiring as his replacement, the program lost all future recruits.

After McCaffery was fired, Navon Shabazz was the only recruit that stayed committed to the program, but recently reversed course and decommitted.

McCollum and his staff added three players to their 2025 recruiting class, including his oldest son, Peyton McCollum, the 2024 Iowa Mr. Basketball, Trevin Jirak, and Tate Sage.

The Hawkeyes currently have no commitments in their 2026 recruiting class, and are attempting to change that.

The No.1 overall center and No. 1 Iowa prospect, Arafan Diane, announced he received an offer from Iowa Men's Basketball. Diane is an elite prospect from Guinea, West Africa, and has also played basketball in Canada before landing at Iowa United Prep in Des Moines, Iowa.

Diane is a dominating big man, standing at seven-foot-one. He is ranked as a consensus four-star prospect by ESPN, On3, Rivals, and 247 Sports.

On3 composite ranked Diane as Iowa's No. 1 prospect, the No. 3 center prospect, and the No. 22 overall prospect. 247 Sports ranked him as Iowa's No. 1 prospect, the No. 1 center prospect, and the No. 23 overall prospect.

ESPN ranked Diane as Iowa's No. 1 prospect and the No. 12 center prospect. Rivals ranked him as the No. 54 overall prospect.

Diane has the potential to be an elite college basketball player, and the Hawkeyes will have to beat out over 20 schools for his commitment.
