During the offseason, Iowa Men's Basketball continues preparing on and off the court for the 2025-2026 season. The new-look Hawkeyes began on-court practices and workouts this past week and attempted to build camaraderie off the court.

The Men's Hoops social media team posted a video of the Hawkeyes showing the initial stages of their preparation on the court and in the weight room. The squad participated in in-court drills, scrimmages, and weight room workouts

At the end of the week, the Hawkeyes were seen doing a vastly different activity. Some players and Coach McCollum were shown at PinSeekers in Tiffin working on their golf swings and team chemistry.

While the team attempts to gel on and off the court, the coaching staff diligently prepares for the future. Over the past few weeks, McCollum and his staff have contacted multiple prospects, including re-offering a 2026 prospect, Tristan Reed.

Over the weekend, the program made an offer to a 2026 three-star prospect from Boston, Massachusetts.

Quinn Costello, a sharpshooting, six-foot-ten forward prospect from Boston, Massachusetts, announced he received an offer from McCollum and the Iowa Men's Basketball program.

Costello is a product of The Newman School in Boston, Massachusetts, and will be a senior on the Cardinals' basketball team next season.

According to MaxPreps, Costello averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in 30 games for Newman last season.

Costello is a modern-day forward who can effectively shoot from beyond the arc and drive to the basket. Standing at six ten, Costello shoots over the top of defenders with ease and can knock down shots at a high rate.

On3 Sports ranked Costello as the No. 9 Massachusetts prospect and the No. 218 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.
