Some much-need guard depth is heading to Iowa City!
After losing nine total players to the transfer portal and graduation, Jan Jensen and her staff have been diligently searching for players to boost the roster.
The transfer portal was great for the program during the offseason, providing two solid guards to add to the mix.
Now, well after the transfer portal closed, players are still finding new homes, and Jensen and her staff added another one, this time from Division III Knox College.
Bria Medina gives the Hawkeyes a pure scorer that adds more guard depth
Georgia transfer Dani Carnegie was the first domino to fall, giving Iowa a do-it-all player who was a First-Team All-SEC player for the Bulldogs during the 2025-2026 season.
Amari Whiting was the second player to head to Iowa City, giving the Hawkeyes some veteran leadership and another player who can fill up the statsheet.
Last but not least, Jocelyn Faison gave Iowa its third transfer and provides tremendous upside, especially on the defensive end.
With three transfer already in the mix, Jensen added another intriguing guard prospect who was a lights-out shooter last season.

The program announced that Knox College transfer Bria Media is joining the program. Medina heads to the Hawkeyes after a prolific career with the Prairie Fire.
In three seasons at Knox College, Medina compiled 1,524 career points, including a career-high 40 points against Illinois College.
She was a three-time All-Midwest Conference selection and was named the Midwest Conference Player of the year last season.
Last season for Knox College, Medina averaged 23.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Medina give Iowa an instant scorere off the bench
It is hard to project if Medina will play a significant role for the Hawkeyes next season, but if her scoring follows her to Iowa City, the program might have just found a critical bench piece.
She was a scoring machine for the Prairie Fire during all three years she was at Knox College, but making the huge jump to Division I and the Big Ten is extremely difficult.
Iowa's likely starting rotation consists of Dani Carnegie, Chit-Chat Wright, Taylor Stremlow, McKenna Woliczko, and Ava Heiden, but there is no question that Medina can instantly compete for minutes at one of the guard spots.
Whiting will also be a factor in the backcourt, but with Medina's shooting ability, she gives Jensen a pure scoring weapon off the bench, something the Hawkeyes didn't have last season.
It is not often you have addition by subtraction, but with a lot of minutes freed up from last year's team, there is a lot of potential for playing time for nearly everyone on the roster.
Medina would make an excellent off-guard complement to Whiting off the bench with her ability to score at a high rate, and with a lot of guard minutes up for grabs, she is an intriguing option.
Median was a relative unknown to Hawkeye fans before committing to the program, but they'd better get ready to hear her name a lot more frequently.
