With Iowa's roster currently at six players, Jan Jensen and her staff are pushing on the gas in order to sign multiple talented prospects from the transfer portal.

Iowa has already lost five players to the transfer portal and four to graduation, leaving the program with nine roster spots available next season. All five transfers were guards, signaling a clear need for next season.

Iowa was already in pursuit of Lindenwood transfer guard Ellie Bruggemann, and now two other transfer guards will join her on a visit to Iowa City.

Two transfers are headed to Iowa City this weekend

After losing five guards to the transfer portal and Kylie Feuerbach and Taylor McCabe to graduation, Iowa's guard depth is extremely thin.

Jan Jensen and the program know that, and are lining up multiple visits with transfer guards this weekend.

According to On3 Sports' Kyle Huesmann, transfer guards Amari Whiting (Oklahoma State) and Dani Carnegie (Georgia) have confirmed visits to Iowa City this weekend, each bringing a unique skillset to the table.

2025-2026 season averages: 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 42.5% FG 32.1% 3P

There is no doubt that Iowa needs help at guard, and Oklahoma State guard Amari Whiting is looking for a change of scenery.

She started her career at BYU, averaging 10.5 points on 39 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent from beyond the arc over two seasons before transferring to Oklahoma State ahead of last season.

Her point production dipped from 10.3 to 9.6, but she was more effective, shooting 42 percent from the field and 32 percent from beyond the arc.

Whiting will provide a veteran leader, someone who fills up the stat sheet, and is a capable rebounder if she signs with the Hawkeyes.

Dani Carnegie, guard (Georgia)

2025-2025 season averages: 17.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals, 42.7% FG, 35.4% 3P

If Iowa wants to add more scoring and better guard play, look no further than Georgia transfer Dani Carnegie.

Carnegie was a workhorse on both ends of the floor for the Georgia Bulldogs last season, averaging 17.8 points per game on offense and 1.4 steals per game on defense.

She not only filled up the score sheet, shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from beyond the arc, but she is a capable passer, averaging 3.2 assists per game last season.

If Carnegie signs, she will easily compete right away for one of the starting guard positions with Chit-Chat Wright and Taylor Stremlow, and can provide an offensive spark at either guard position.
