If you can't beat them, get them to join your squad a season.
Iowa's roster is hurting, limited to six players with McKenna Woliczko joining via the 2026 recruiting class. Even with Woliczko on board, Jan Jensen has a lot of work to do to build a competitive roster next season.
Ever since the Caitlin Clark era, Iowa has enjoyed years of success, but that is in jeopardy next season, given how few players they currently have.
The Hawkeyes have already lost five players to the transfer portal, but where the transfer portal takes, it can also give.
Iowa is reportedly scheduling a visit with transfer G Ellie Brueggeman
Excluding the center position, Iowa has holes in every other spot, and must address one of the biggest needs that popped up at the end of last season: three-point shooting.
In two games in the NCAA Tournament, the Hawkeyes shot a combined 6/42 from three-point range, and are reportedly trying to solve that issue by scheduling a visit with a player who torched them early last season.

The Iowa WBB coaching staff is looking to host a transfer portal prospect this weekend.
A name that HawkeyeReport has been high on since she announced her intentions to enter the portal.

According to The Hawkeye Report's Kyle Huesmann, the program has scheduled a meeting with Lindenwood guard Ellie Brueggemann.
If her name sounds familiar, it is because Iowa hosted Lindenwood last December, and even though the Hawkeyes ultimately destroyed the Lions 102-68, Brueggemann led the way with 17 points.
Brueggemann had the best shooting season of her career last year, shooting 49 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arc.
Brueggemann would definitely help fix Iowa's shooting issues, and she brings a veteran presence to the locker room, something they desperately need next season.
There is still plenty of time to dive deeper into the transfer portal, but signing Brueggemann would be a great start.
