After officially signing on the dotted line, Georgia Bulldogs transfer Jocelyn Faison is officially a member of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Faison was a highly touted prospect from Langston Hughes High School in Douglasville, Georgia, before committing to the Georgia Bulldogs.

Things did not go exactly as planned for Faison last season, as she was limited to only 7.8 minutes per game during her freshman season.

With a new opportunity comes renewed excitement, and Jan Jensen is excited for what Faison brings to the table.

Faison's length and versatility were big selling points for Jan Jensen

It's difficult to project how the Hawkeyes will use Faison next season, but Jensen is excited about what she potentially brings to the squad.

After she officially signed with the program, Jensen stated that Faison has an "extremely high" ceiling and has great length and versatility.

Faison's scouting report coming out of high school echoed Jensen's, stating she has great athleticism and the ability to defend multiple positions at a high level.

Currently, Faison is more of a defensive stopper than anything, and if she contributes anything on offense, it would be a bonus.

According to On3 Sports' Kyle Huesmann, the program intends to use Faison as a "big guard," putting her at the shooting guard or small forward positions.

As the squad gets deeper into the 2026-2027 season, it wouldn't be a surprise if Faison played some minutes at the power forward spot as well, and it will be interesting to see how Jensen utilizes her defensive versatility.

For now, Jensen is excited to have Faison on board, and the Hawkeyes have now used nine of their 15 allotted scholarships.
