As the Iowa Men's Basketball schedule continues to take shape, the squad continues to prepare for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
The Hawkeyes learned they will take on Ole Miss and either Grand Canyon or Utah in the 2025 Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs, California.
The Iowa program accepted an invitation to play in the tournament in April, and learned their first opponent after arriving in California.
The Iowa roster will look drastically different next season with only two returning players from last season.
New Iowa Head Coach Ben McCollum has rebuilt the roster with multiple players from his squad at Drake, including the 2024 Newcomer and Player of the Year Bennett Stirtz.
McCollum and his staff picked up a huge recruiting win when they added 2026 prospect Trey Thompson.
Thompson, a four-star forward prospect from Tennessee, was a highly coveted prospect in the 2026 class and decided to commit to the Hawkeyes and reclassify to the 2025 recruiting class so he could join Iowa this season.
As the 2025-2026 season approaches, we are officially 100 days away from the beginning of the season!

The Hawkeyes continue to gel on and off the court, and multiple players have stated that everyone is on the same page before next season.
New Iowa Forward Cam Manyawu told reporters that everyone has had a good offseason and has bought into the new culture that Head Coach Ben McCollum and his staff are trying to establish.
McCollum is relying on his veteran leaders and the transfer he brought with him from Drake to establish the culture he wants to start.
There are high expectations for the Iowa program in the first season under McCollum, and if he can recreate the magic he had in his first season with Drake, the Iowa program is in good hands for the future.
