Ben McCollum and the Iowa Men's Basketball program continues to build its roster for the 2025-2026 season. McCollum is rebuilding the roster after multiple players entered the transfer portal. The Hawkeyes had 13 players enter the portal, with 12 looking for a new home.
McCollum got to work and heavily relied on the transfer portal to rebuild the Hawkeyes' depleted roster. He brought five former Drake players with him and picked up guard Brendan Hausen (Kansas State) and forward Alvaro Folgueiras (Robert Morris) from the portal.
McCollum also flipped in-state prospect and 2025 Iowa Mr. Basketball Trevin Jirak from Northern Iowa.
As the roster continues to round into form, Iowa has accepted an invitation to an early-season tournament in 2025-2026.

Total Sports Consulting announced Monday that Iowa will participate in the 2025-2026 Acrisure Series in Palm Desert, California, on November 26 and 27. The Hawkeyes will play at least two games in a crowded field.
The list of participating teams includes California Baptist, Colorado, Loyola (Illinois), Minnesota, Nevada, Northern Iowa, San Jose State, San Diego, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Stanford, Tulsa, and Utah.
The schedule and matchups for the tournament are still being finalized and will be released at a later date.
The Acrisure Series allows Iowa fans to see the new-look Hawkeye roster on a big stage early in the 2025-2026 season. After the spring transfer portal window opened, Ben McCollum has dipped into the portal to continue building a competitive roster for next season.
After a disappointing end to the 2024-2025 season, the Hawkeyes aim to be more competitive in their first season under McCollum.
