The Joe Moore Award winners were so good that even backups are testing off the charts

A former Hawkeye OL fell just short of a perfect relative athletic score

It is no secret that what the Iowa offensive line accomplished last season will go down as one of the best seasons by an OL unit in college football history.

Just before Iowa's victory over Vanderbilt in the ReliaQuest Bowl, the offensive line earned the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line unit in college football.

The line was anchored by Logan Jones, Beau Stephens, and Gennings Dunker, and alongside Kade Pieper and Trevor Lauck, all five starters played every game this season.

The unit was so good that we did not get much of a glimpse into how good the reserves actually were. One reserve is now turning heads after testing off the charts ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Bryce George helped his potential draft stock with a superb RAS score

While the Relative Athletic Score (RAS) gives us a glimpse of how players performed physically, it is not the whole story and doesn't determine where a prospect will be taken in the NFL Draft.

However, when the numbers are as good as guard Bryce George's were, it gets people talking.

George was a bit of an afterthought last season after suffering an injury and being limited to only three games, but he showed that it doesn't matter how you start a season, but how you finish.

Before joining the Iowa program, George started 38 total games for Ferris State at the Division III level, guiding the Bulldogs to three Division III National Championships.

He is by no means a slouch, and even though he never truly got an opportunity to show what he could do for a Division I program, his numbers show that he is a talented prospect who can help any organization looking for offensive line help.

George is not currently projected to be selected in the upcoming NFL Draft, but he has a chance to catch on with an organization as an undrafted free agent.
