After earning a big win on the recruiting trail at the beginning of October, Iowa Women's Basketball has taken two gut punches on two top 2026 prospects.

When five-star prospect McKenna Woliczko committed to the Hawkeye program at the beginning of October, it produced a wave of excitement surrounding the program.

After Woliczko's commitment, Iowa was also projected to land No. 1 in-state prospect Jenica Lewis and five-star prospect Addison Bjorn.

Lewis spurned her home-state Hawkeyes for Notre Dame, and now we now the fate of the second projected Iowa commitment in the 2026 recruiting class.

Addison Bjorn announced her commitment to Texas on Thursday morning, giving the program its second five-star recruit in the 2026 class.

Texas is the only program to land two top-10 recruits in the 2026 recruiting class with Bjorn (No. 10) and Brihanna Crittendon (No. 8).

This stings for the Iowa program, as it was mentioned alongside Bjorn throughout her recruitment process.

McKenna Woliczko was also pushing hard for her to join the Hawkeyes, as the two have played together for Team USA.

Bjorn, a Missouri native, was one of the highest-ranked forward prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.

247Sports Composite ranking has Bjorn as a five-star prospect, Missouri's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 2 small forward prospect, and the No. 9 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

After Bjorn's commitment, nine of the top ten prospects in the 2026 recruiting class have chosen their college destination, excluding the No. 3 overall prospect, Jerzy Robinson.
