With the transfer portal window on the verge of closing, two new faces are headed to Iowa City, with one heading in another direction.
The transfer portal window for men's college basketball closes at midnight on April 21, but that does not mean players cannot still sign with whichever program they choose. The only regulation is that if a player wants to transfer, all necessary paperwork must be in before the midnight deadline.
Ben McCollum and the program added two massive transfers, including center Andrew McKeever (Saint Mary's) and guard Ty'Reek Coleman, but Iowa's only transfer portal entry is making headlines after signing with an ACC program.
Former Hawkeye hero Alvaro Folgueiras is headed to Louisville
One of the biggest stories of the NCAA Tournament was Iowa's improbable upset victory over one-seed Florida in the Sweet 16.
Bennett Stirtz sprinted up court and found Alvaro Folgeuiras in the corner for what became the game-winning three-point basket, and now Folgeuiras has found a new home.

After one season in Iowa City after joining the Iowa program from the transfer portal, Folgueiras is heading to Louisville.
Folgueiras announced he was entering the transfer portal in early April, and 11 days later, he is reportedly heading to the Louisville Cardinals' program.
During his one and only season with the Hawkeyes, Folgueiras became a key reserve for McCollum, averaging 8.4 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
He also added 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 20.8 minutes per game.
Folgueiras was not a member of the Iowa family for very long, but he definitely made a lasting impact, and Hawkeye fans will remember his shot to beat Florida for the rest of their lives.
