The Iowa running back room has been a revolving door since the beginning of the season.

Sophomore Kamari Moulton was the unquestioned starter out of camp, but was hurt in Iowa's opening game against Albany, which caused him to miss a few weeks.

Terrell Washington Jr. was the week two starter in Moulton's absence, but is now sidelined with an injury.

Jaziun Patterson has served as one of the primary backups for most of the season, but he has been sidelined by a nagging ankle injury since Iowa's win over Rutgers. He will miss his third straight game against Penn State this weekend.

With all the injuries to the running back room, freshmen Xavier Williams and Nathan McNeil have been called upon more frequently. After suffering an injury of his own, Williams returned to the lineup against Wisconsin and again showed his explosiveness and creativity.

Now up to 241 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season, Williams praised the offensive line and the support he has received from the other running backs.

During a portion of his media availability (posted by "247Sports), Williams talked about how everyone in the running back room is happy for everyone else's success.

They are a tight-knit group, and there is no division between them, regardless of who is getting the carries.

Williams also had high praise for the offensive line, stating that they make his job easy, and he knows they are "always going to show up."

Williams was also asked about his attack-first mentality, and he stated simply that he loves football so it's easy.

Williams and the Iowa rushing attack will look to duplicate their performance against Wisconsin this week as they welcome a challenging Penn State squad to Kinnick Stadium this weekend.
