Iowa Women's Basketball dominates rival Wisconsin
The Hawkeyes were home at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday night for senior night. They dominated the Badgers 81-66 in the final regular season home game for the seniors. Lucy Olsen led the scoring with 22 points, with junior Hannah Stuelke putting up 21 points and 15 rebounds in the win.
The 11-seed Iowa women will travel to Indianapolis on March 5 for the Big 10 Tournament. They play in round one against 14-seed Wisconsin.
Iowa Women's Soccer ink head coach to a four-year extension
Iowa Women's Soccer head coach Dave Dilanni has signed a contract extension that runs through 2029. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 15-win season, where they made their fifth NCAA tournament appearance.
Dilanni has been successful at Iowa, going 117-77-26 in his 11 years at the helm. The Hawkeyes also have two Big 10 Tournament titles since 2019.
The Hawkeyes will begin their spring season on March 8.
Gabby Cortez win gold for the Iowa Women's Track and Field team
The Iowa Track and Field Team competed in the Big 10 Indoor Championships in Indiana over the weekend. Iowa star athlete Gabby Cortez took gold in the 600-meter run on Saturday, with a time of 1:28.18. She is the first 600-meter champ for the Hawkeyes since 2011.
The men's and women's 4x400-meter squads both secured silver at the event, as both teams finished in the top five at the even. The women's squad finished fourth and the men's team finished fifth.
Iowa will wrap up their season on March 14 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Iowa softball wraps up series in Arkansas, men's baseball scuffles in Texas
Iowa Women's Softball traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete in the Wooo Pig Classic. They went 3-2 on the weekend, with their best game coming against Missouri State on Friday, February 28. Infielder Soo-Jin Berry went 2-3, with 2 runs batted in, and pitcher Jalen Adams pitched all six innings in the 8-0 shutout win.
Hawkeye softball will be back in action on Friday, March 7, versus Louisiana Lafayette as they head to Alabama for the Alabama Spring Break Showdown.
Iowa Men's Baseball went on the road to Cleburne, Texas, for a four-game series against Washington State. They had a bad weekend, going 1-4, only winning the last game of the series. Iowa won the last game of the series 14-3. Catcher Reese Moore paced the Hawkeyes, going 2-4, with a home run and four runs batted in.
The Hawkeyes got back on track Monday night, as they beat Loras 11-3 in their home opener in Iowa City, at Duane Banks Field. Iowa had 15 hits in a dominating performance against the Duhawks. Infielder Reese Moore had a perfect day at the plate, going 4-4 with a double, a triple, and two runs scored.
Iowa baseball will travel to New Jersey on Friday, March 7 for their next game against Rutgers at 3:00 p.m. Central Time.
