Iowa Men's Basketball Head Coach Ben McCollum has heavily used the transfer portal to rebuild the Hawkeyes' roster. McCollum convinced five former Drake players to join him in Iowa City and signed two non-Drake transfers.
This includes the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Bennett Stirtz, the 2024 Horizon League Player of the Year Alvaro Folgueiras, and former Kansas State sharpshooter Brendan Hausen.
The Hawkeyes also added 2025 Iowa Mr. Basketball, Trevin Jirak, after he changed his commitment from Northern Iowa to Iowa.
During a radio interview with 106.3 KXNO earlier this month, McCollum stated he wanted to add at least four or five more transfers after securing the commitments of his five former players. With Folgueiras and Hausen on the roster, there are still more openings for McCollum to fill.
On Thursday, a report surfaced that Iowa is interested in a four-star transfer guard from Kentucky to help bolster their backcourt.
Kentucky transfer guard Travis Perry has received interest from the following schools since entering the portal, per his agent Nate Conley:

According to his agent, Iowa is interested in former Kentucky guard Travis Perry. Perry was seldom used in his first and only season with the Kentucky Wildcats.
In 31 games, Perry averaged 2.8 points and 0.8 assists in 9.8 minutes per game.
Perry was a highly targeted player coming out of high school. On3 Sports ranked him as a four-star prospect and the No. 1 (No. 81 overall) recruit in Kentucky for the 2024 recruiting class.
He finished high school with the most points in Kentucky state history (5,481), averaging 32.2 points per game in his senior year (2024).
Perry had multiple offers from big-time programs, including Ole Miss, Cincinnati, and Western Kentucky, before committing to John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats.
