It has been a busy summer for Iowa Women's Basketball.

The expectations are sky high for Jan Jensen and her squad in her second year at the helm of the Hawkeyes, and they are not shying away from those expectations.

Multiple preseason polls have the Hawkeyes starting the season ranked in the AP Top 25, reaching as high as No. 21.

Jensen and her squad are embracing the expectations, using the mantra "pressure is a privilege" to prepare for the spotlight this season.

The Hawkeyes have multiple key players returning, including seniors Kylie Feuerbach and Hannah Stuelke, and they have some talented freshmen coming in this season.

Addie Deal, Layla Hays, and Journey Houston joined the squad this season as a part of a talented 2025 recruiting class.

The Hawkeyes hit another home run on the recruiting trail after star prospect McKenna Woliczko committed to the program at the beginning of October.

Woliczko stated that she wants to be a recruiter for the program as the Hawkeyes continue signing high-level prospects.

Over the weekend, the Hawkeyes hosted a top 2027 prospect with the intention of adding more size and talent to the class.

Talented 2027 forward/center prospect Addison Medeck announced she received an offer from the Hawkeyes program after making an unofficial visit this past weekend.

Medeck was in attendance for the Iowa-Penn State game at Kinnick Stadium and picked up an offer from the Hawkeyes shortly after.

Medeck, a six-foot-three prospect from Papillion, Nebraska, would add more size to an already big front court for the Hawkeyes. Jensen is big proponent of the continued use of post play, and Medeck would be perefct for that role.

247Sports has currently ranked Medeck as a four-star prospect, Nebraska's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 7 center prospect, and the No. 40 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
