The transfer portal chaos has come and gone, and Iowa picked up two huge additions from the portal for next season.

Two-way guard Ty'Reek Coleman was the first to sign, quickly followed by center Andrew McKeever, and Ben McCollum is elated that both players chose the Hawkeyes.

McCollum raved about Coleman's ability to get to the basket at well and defend at a high level, and he didn't forget about McKeever as his one-man PR campaign for his new players ramps up.

McCollum is adamant that McKeever has a ton of unlocked potential

The Hawkeyes were connected to McKeever from the early stages of the transfer portal window, and filled a huge need after he signed.

Nothing against Cam Manyawu, but the Hawkeyes were in desperate need of size and elite rebounding, and McKeever brings both to the table.

McCollum was recently asked why McKeeve is a perfect fit for the program, and he had two very specific reasons.

McCollum told KWQC TV6 sports director Joey Donia that McKeever's elite ability to trigger the offense and pass at a high level makes him a perfect fit.

Iowa's offense is predicated on screens and quick ball movement, both things that McKeever does very well.

McKeever is a big body on defense that can defend his position well and rebounds at a high level, something the squad was missing last season.

McCollum also said that even though McKever was in one of the best programs in the country for a few years, he has only "scratched the surface" of how good he can be.

If McCollum can unlock some of that potential he was referencing, the Hawkeyes could be sacry good next season.
