"Tight End U" will be getting a big boost in the future.
The Iowa Football program has been affectionately dubbed "Tight End U" for the number of high-level tight end prospects it has sent to the NFL.
Iowa Football has recently produced two of the top tight ends in the NFL in George Kittle and Sam LaPorta, not to mention multiple other current and former star NFL tight ends.
T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings), Noah Fant (Cincinnati Bengals), Erik All (Cincinnati Bengals), and Luke Lachey (Houston Texans) are also currently in the NFL, with former legend Dallas Clark also among many others in the group.
Over the past few seasons, the Hawkeyes' reputation of "Tight End U" has slightly diminished.
Current members of the tight end group, including Addison Ostrenga, Zach Ortwerth, and DJ Vonnahme, are working to return the program to its former glory, and they will get some help in 2027.

Current OABCIG High School standout Jaxx DeJean announced he has committed to the Hawkeyes in the 2027 recruiting class.
Jaxx, the youngest brother of former Hawkeye and current Philadelphia Eagles' star Cooper DeJean, is one of the top in-state prospects in the 2027 class.
Jaxx is a multi-sport athlete who played quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, and defensive back for the OABCIG Falcons last season.
Jaxx burst onto the football scene as a freshman, tallying 500 receiving yards, 128 rushing yards, and 12 total touchdowns.
Rivals has currently ranked Jaxx as a four-star prospect, Iowa's No. 3 overall prospect, and the No. 19 tight end prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
Rivals Industry ranking has also ranked Jaxx as the No. 288 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
Jaxx joins fellow in-state prospects Gavin Stecker and Braylon Bingham as the first three commitments in Iowa's 2027 recruiting class.
