DL Josh Johnson has set an official visit to Iowa City from June 5-7

Earlier in February, three-star prospect Josh Johnson narrowed his preferred destinations to six, with the Hawkeyes making the cut.

A few weeks later, Johnson has set an official visit to Iowa City in June, making it an important month for the program with multiple official visits.

The first weekend in June has become very important for the program with multiple talented prospects visiting Iowa City.

Johnson, a Key West, Florida, native, is a dual-sport athlete at Key West High School, competing in track and football.

As a sophomore, Johnson was a state qualifier in the discus throw.

Even though Johnson plays on the offensive and defensive lines, the Hawkeyes currently value him more as a defender.

Listed at six-foot-five, 260 pounds, Johnson has the prototypical size of an Iowa defensive lineman who can plug up the middle and proficiently stop the run.

It is not clear where defensive line coach Kelvin Bell and the defense will slot him in, but he definitely has the size to fit anywhere across the line.
