Before spring practices kick off the 2026 football season for the Haweyes, the coaching staff has been active on the recruiting trail.

Iowa brought in a talented 2026 recruiting class that ranked No. 7 overall in the Big Ten and No. 23 overall, and the program wants to continue improving in the 2027 class.

Rivals has been high on Kirk Ferentz and Iowa's chances to land some of the top talent in the class, many of them on the offensive line.

After the program won the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line unit in college football, recruits are taking notice of how well the program develops offensive line talent.

Just ahead of spring practices, a talented 2027 offensive tackle prospect has Iowa on his final list.

2027 OT Mason Halliman has Iowa on his final list

Iowa only has three players in the 2027 recruiting class, including two four-star prospects, but got great news about a rising talent from just over the border in Illinois.

Mason Halliman, a Frankfort, Illinois native, has the Hawkeyes on his final list of destinations, alongside Big Ten rivals Illinois, Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

Halliman currently plays for Lincoln-Way East High School, and has the size and skill Iowa offensive line coach George Barnett looks for.

Halliman is listed at six-foot-five and weighs 275 pounds, a typical size for a traditional Iowa offensive tackle.

Rivals has ranked Halliman as a three-star prospect, Illinois' No. 16 overall prospect, and the No. 40 offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

247Sports has ranked Halliman as a three-star prospect, Illinois' No. 19 overall prospect, and the No. 50 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class.

Even though Halliman has narrowed his choices to six, Rivals has given Iowa a 95 percent chance of signing him before the 2027 season.
