The Iowa Women's Basketball squad and coaches continue preparing for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Summer practices and workouts are ongoing, and Hannah Stuelke returned to the team following a solid performance at the 2025 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.

Stuelke averaged 5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as she aided the United States in its pursuit of a gold medal.

Stuelke will attempt to get re-acclimated as soon as possible, and joins multiple new faces on the Iowa squad.

Freshmen Addie Deal, Journey Houston, and Layla Hays, along with transfers Emely Rodriguez and Chazadi Wright, are settling in and attempting to gel with their new teammates.

As the new squad continues to gel and prepare for next season, a familiar face swung by a practice last week.

Former Iowa star Megan Gustafson stopped by an Iowa practice last week during the WNBA All-Star break. Gustafson plays for the Las Vegas Aces and recently returned from a long injury spell on the sidelines.

Gustafson missed the first the first 19 games of the season with a lower leg injury, and made her debut during a July 10 game against the Washington Mystics.

After Gustafson stopped by an Iowa practice, Head Coach Jan Jensen posted on X that she worked out with the team and imparted some wisdom to the Hawkeye players.

Before Caitlin Clark became the face of Iowa Women's Basketball, Gustafson paved the way.

During her historic four-year career with the Hawkeyes, Gustafson averaged 20.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocked shots per game.

Her best season in an Iowa uniform came during her senior season when she averaged 27.8 points and 13.4 points per game.

During the 2018-2019 season, Gustafson earned First Team All-Big Ten, First Team All-American, Big Ten Player of the Year, and the AP Player of the Year honors.

Gustafson has averaged 4.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in three games this season.
