The Hawkeyes' 2027 recruiting class hasn't gotten started yet, but Ben McCollum and the coaching staff have been actively pursuing top talent in the class.

Iowa has recently offered 2027 guard prospects TJ Jamison, Kevin Savage III, and Cayden Daughtry, but it is still far too early in the recruitment process.

McCollum's system thrives with a ball-dominant point guard who can shoot and pass with efficiency, and those three guards have that in their bag and more.

With no one currently committed, McCollum and company are still searching for their point guard of the future.

Iowa offered top 2027 combo guard Jalen Davis

McCollum is swinging for the fences in the 2027 recruiting class with the hope of landing a top guard prospect, and that continued with an offer to Jalen Davis.

Davis is considered to be the top combo guard prospect in the 2027 recruiting class, and he is projected to command a beefy name, image, and likeness (NIL) deal to the winning program.

According to Rivals, Davis is projected to command just under $400,000 in NIL money, and his skills warrant every penny of that.

As a sophomore at Bremerton High School in Bremerton, Washington, last year, Davis averaged 26.4 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 5.4 steals per game.

Rivals has currently ranked Davis as a four-star prospect, Washington's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 6 point guard prospect, and the No. 19 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

247Sports currently ranks Davis as a four-star prospect, Washington's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 2 overall combo guard, and the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Iowa will have to pry Davis away from multiple Power Four programs, but earning his commitment would immediately improve its roster.
