In one of the best rivalry games in college football, the Iowa Hawkeyes (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) battle the Wisconsin Badgers (2-3, 0-2 Big Ten) in Madison, Wisconsin.

The rivalry game predates the Heartland Trophy, going back to 1894. The Heartland Trophy was first introduced in 2004, and the two teams have played for the coveted 72-pound bronze bull ever since.

Wisconsin holds a slight edge in the all-time series with a 49-47-2 record, but Iowa has the longest winning streak in the series with 10 (1985 to 1996), and has won three straight, and four of the last five games.

Both squads have stumbled out of the gates to start the season, and a win would go a long way to turning the season around.

Before the Hawkeyes battle the Badgers, we have the final odds for the game, and a final predicition for the rivalry matchup.

Final prediction

Whenever the Hawkeyes and the Badgers face off, you know it will be a hard-fought, smashmouth game. As much as they hate to acknowledge it, these two programs are mirrors of each other.

Both Iowa and Wisconsin pride themselves on running the football, having solid defenses, and excelling in special teams.

The Badgers have done none of that this season, as they are ranked outside the top 30 in most offensive categories, and they have failed to run the ball effectively.

Iowa has struggled with inconsistency on offense due to the health of their running backs and wide receivers, but still averages 197.2 rushing yards per game (No. 24 in the nation).

A big part of the rushing attack is starting quarterback Mark Gronowski's ability to break out of the pocket and use his legs effectively.

Unfortunately for Iowa fans, Gronowski is a game-time decision as he continues his recovery from a knee injury.

With or without Gronowski, the Hawkeyes should take care of business against a weak Wisconsin defense and an offense that will be without its starting quarterback.

The Hawkeyes will stay focused and rely on their defense to stifle the Badgers, extending their winning streak in the series to four.

Final score: Iowa 24, Wisconsin 9
