Different name, familiar place for the Hawkeyes during bowl season.

Iowa Football wrapped up the 2025 regular season with a dominating 40-16 win over rival Nebraska to capture the Heroes Trophy.

It was Iowa's second straight win after defeating Michigan State 20-17 in a hard-fought game at home in the squad's final home game of the regular season.

The Hawkeyes finished with an 8-4 (6-3 Big Ten) record and had aspirations to make their first College Football Playoff.

Iowa had a chance to upset Oregon at home and USC on the road, but ultimately fell short in both games. After failing to win either game, their CFP hopes were eliminated.

Even though there were a lot of "what-ifs" this season, an 8-4 record is nothing to scoff at.

The Hawkeyes lost all four games by a total of 15 points, and were all ranked opponents. If they could have won two or three of those games, there is a good chance they would be in the CFP at the end of the regular season.

After failing to make the CFP, the Hawkeyes learned where they will play postseason football, and it will be in a very familiar place.

According to On3 Sports' Brett McMurphy, Iowa will travel to Tampa, Florida, to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year's Eve.

The game's sponsorship has recently changed from the long-standing Outback Bowl to the ReliaQuest Bowl, and this will be the seventh time Iowa has played at Raymond James Stadium under Kirk Ferentz.

According to Iowa's News Now, the Hawkeyes have played in a bowl game at Raymond James Stadium in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2013, 2016, and 2018.

This will be the first time Iowa has played at Raymond James Stadium since the bowl game's name was changed.

The Hawkeyes will take on an SEC opponent that will be announced in the future.
