The Iowa women FINALLY got back on track with a much-needed win over Washington late last week.

After dropping three consecutive games to USC, UCLA, and Minnesota, the Hawkeyes had a must-win matchup against No. 25 Washington at home, and they took care of business.

In a low-scoring, defensive game, Iowa overcame an early deficit to earn a 65-56 victory and its sixth win over a ranked opponent this season.

Iowa is still navigating life without injured senior leader Taylor McCabe, who is out for the year with an ACL injury, and important reserve Emely Rodriguez, who is still dealing with a back injury.

While this win wouldn't have completely destroyed Iowa's NCAA Tournament hopes, it was a must-win to get back on track and earn another Quad One win.

After downing Washington at home, the Hawkeyes got even better news concerning their NCAA Tournament hopes.

Iowa is listed as a three-seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament

The NCAA Selection Committee revealed their initial top 16 teams and tournament seeds ahead of Selection Sunday, and the Hawkeyes have a great spot.

According to On3 Sports' Kyle Huesmann, the Selection Committee revealed that Iowa is currently ranked No. 11 overall and a three-seed in the Fort Worth Region for the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

In the Fort Worth bracket, Iowa would join South Carolina (No. 1), Louisville (No. 2), and Michigan State (No. 4) as the top four seeds in the region.

It would be a remarkable feat in year two under Jan Jensen to earn such a high seed, and although nothing is set yet, the Hawkeyes have a strong path to becoming a top-four seed in March.

A three-seed would be the highest seed the Hawkeyes have earned since earning a No. 1 seed during Caitlin Clark's senior year in 2024, when they made it all the way to the National Championship game.
