The Hawkeyes will now be without a key contributor for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season.

Everyone was flying high after Iowa dominated No. 12 Ohio State 91-70 over the weekend, making a very good Buckeyes team look very average.

After the win, Iowa pushed its winning streak to eight games and moved into first place in the Big Ten Conference standings with a perfect 9-0 conference record.

Everything was looking up for the Hawkeyes until the recent update regarding starting guard Taylor McCabe's injury.

Taylor McCabe will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury

According to 247Sports' David Eickholt, McCabe suffered a torn ACL in the first minute of the game against Ohio State and will miss the rest of the 2025-2026 season.

Not only will McCabe miss the rest of the season, but the injury effectively ended her Hawkeye career as she was in her final season in Iowa City.

Everyone's thoughts are with McCabe as she recovers from her injury and enters into her post-Iowa life, and she released a heartfelt statement following her injury announcement.

In her statement, McCabe said she did not expect this to be how she would end her Iowa career, but she is committed to recovery and is extremely grateful to everyone who has supported her.

McCabe has been a solid contributor since joining the program in 2022 and was a full-time starter for the Hawkeyes this season.

McCabe has been a three-point marksman since joining the Hawkeyes, and even though she was experiencing a down shooting season, she was a career 40.7 percent shooter from beyond the three-point line.

Before her injury, McCabe was on pace to become the fourth player in Iowa program history to make 85-plus three-point baskets in a season.

With her current output, she was projected to make 88 three-point field goals.

With her college playing career effectively over, McCabe is set to graduate in May with a degree in civil engineering and will pursue a graduate position in women's basketball to pursue a postgraduate degree.
