Twice is nice for the Iowa Football program right before the closing of the transfer portal window.

Players have until midnight on Friday night to enter their names into the transfer portal, with Miami and Indiana players getting an additional five days after the conclusion of the National Championship.

With only a few hours remaining in the window, the Iowa program has signed 12 players from the portal, most of them coming from the FCS level.

The Hawkeyes have added depth on both sides of the ball, including defensive tackle transfer Emmanuel Olagbaju, who signed earlier today.

Iowa was not done there, earning the commitment of another wide receiver transfer just ahead of the midnight deadline.

Transfer WR Lance Beeghley was immediately impressed with Iowa

Southern Methodist University (SMU) transfer wide receiver Lance Beeghley announced he is signing with the Hawkeyes after entering his name into the portal.

Beeghley initially committed to SMU as a walk-on in the 2024 recruiting class after a dominating season as a senior at New Braunfels High School in New Braunfels, Texas.

During his senior year (2023), Beeghley compiled 954 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 65 receptions.

Beeghley redshirted for his true freshman season (2024), and did not see any game action last season, causing him to seek an opportunity elsewhere.

According to On3 Sports' Blair Sanderson, Beeghley was immediately impressed with the program, saying that from the moment he visited, he felt like part of the family.

He also said that he is looking forward to the development, which Iowa does so well.

Beeghley is the third wide receiver to transfer to the program, joining Tony Diaz (UTRGV) and Evan James (Furman).

After committing to Iowa, Beeghley has three years of eligibility remaining.
