As the Hawkeyes were busy annihilating the Badgers on both sides of the ball, what got lost in the shuffle was the status of quarterback Mark Gronowski.
Gronowski was not asked to do much in last Saturday's 37-0 win over Wisconsin, but he stated he did not have his "best game" against the Baders.
The offense leaned on the running game, and as the Hawkeyes continued to hit big runs on the Wisconsin defense, they handed the ball off more often.
Following last Saturday's win, Gronowski said he was not limited in the game, but it was clear he was not back to 100 percent.
With another week of practice and training under his belt, Iowa's QB1 spoke to the media during open availability this week.
During a portion of his media availability (posted by "247Sports"), Gronowski discussed his health heading into a crucial game against Penn State this weekend.
He stated that he is feeling good and has been able to finish practices, but is still spending a lot of time in the training room.
Gronowski also stated that he is feeling better physically everyday, and he is running the ball better.
Gronowski also had high praise for the offensive line unit, as it continues to be one of the best units in college football. He mentioned the offensive line gives him so much time to throw the football, and opens up holes left and right in the run game.
He was also extremely appreciative that wide receiver Reece Vander Zee is back in the fold, because he is a great receiver with great hands.
Overall, Gronowski stated he is improving every day and is ready for the challenges Penn State will present this weekend.
