The Iowa defense suffocated the Wisconsin offense, completely shutting them down for all four quarters.
The defense also forced three turnovers, including two interceptions and a fumble, and put the game out of reach by halftime.
The offense took advantage of the turnovers, scoring points on all three turnovers, and the Wisconsin defense could not stop Iowa's potent rushing attack.
Starting running back Kamari Moulton had his best game of the season, tallying 96 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
The dynamic freshmen duo of Xavier Williams (55 rush yards, two touchdowns) and Nathan McNeil (40 rush yards) was also dynamic, each rushing for 40-plus yards.
Starting quarterback Mark Gronowski was a game-time decision heading into the game against Wisconsin after suffering a knee injury against Indiana.
Gronowski was medically cleared last week, but his status for the game was uncertain until he suited up on Saturday.
Gronowski stated postgame that he was not limited, but his numbers did not stand out in the 37-0 win.
Iowa's QB1 finished the game with 107 passing yards, but it took him 24 attempts to reach that number. He did complete 17 of those passes for a 71-percent completion percentage.
Gronowski also added another rushing touchdown, but was not as dynamic in the run game as he has been all season.
He mentioned that there weren't as many designed quarterback runs this weekend, which might have been due to the staff not wanting to overextend him during his first game back.
Gronowski was not called upon much in this game with his arm or his legs, but the Hawkeyes' win is all that matters.
Final grade: C+
