Mark Gronowski already etched his name in the history books after earning career win No. 51 against UMass, so why not break another record?
After earning win No. 51, Gronowski became the all-time wins leader by a quarterback in Division I history, and he added another chapter to his legacy during Friday's win over Nebraska.
After Nebraska started the scoring with a touchdown a few minutes into the game, Gronowski and the Iowa offense rallied.
The unit had an answer every time Nebraska tried to secure momentum, using a potent rushing attack and a few big passing plays to silence a raucous Memorial Stadium crowd.
In our keys to the game, we noted that if Gronowski could be a plus-one in the running game, the Hawkeyes would secure the win.
He did that and more, tallying 64 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground, guiding Iowa to a victory, and making some history along the way.

With his 64 rushing yards in the win over Nebraska, Gronowski has now tallied 491 total rushing yards this season, setting a new Iowa program record.
Gronowski broke the previous record of 487 that was set by Ken Ploen in 1956.
Standing at six feet two inches tall and weighing 235 pounds, Gronowski has been effective in the rushing attack for the Hawkeyes all season.
The passing attack has been underwhelming, but Gronowski has used his legs to help the Iowa offense move the ball downfield.
Breaking a 69-year-old record is no small feat, as Gronowski is now statistically the best running quarterback in Iowa program history.
