We can't say enough about what the Iowa offensive line did last season.

The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 9-4 (6-3 Big Ten) record and had another successful season in the run game.

Iowa ranked in the top 50 in rushing offense, averaging 176.9 rushing yards per game (No. 42 overall), and even with a revolving door at the running back position for the early portion of the season, the offensive line held up its end of the bargain.

Quarterback Mark Gronowski also greatly benefited in the running game, setting two Iowa program records for rushing yards in a season by a quarterback and rushing touchdowns in a season by a quarterback.

Iowa is losing three starters across the line, but according to former center Logan Jones, the line is in good hands with Kade Pieper.

Jones knows wherever Pieper plays, he will be successful

Offensive line coach George Barnett has the challenging task of replacing three starters on the line, but he will be lucky to have Pieper returning.

Pieper has gotten tons of praise before next season, and is rumored to replace Rimington Trophy winner Logan Jones at the center position.

Regardless if Pieper playes guard or center, Jones knows he will succeed.

During media interviews at the 2026 NFL Combine, Jones was asked about Pieper potentially replacing him at center and if he could be at the Combine next season.

Jones jokingly said "absolutely not, he sucks," and went on to praise Pieper's work ethic and abilities.

Jones noted that when Pieper first arrived on campus, he struggled mightily and thought he was in for a rude awakening.

He followed that by saying Pieper put in the work, and his progress has been "absolutely crazy."

That is high praise for Pieper coming from one of the best to ever do it, and even though the Combine is a chance for Jones to showcase his abilities, he took some time to highlight how good Pieper is.
