The Iowa Baseball season ended abruptly at the hands of the UCLA Bruins in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. The Bruins bounced the Hawkeyes from the tournament following a 9-3 victory in the semifinals.
The Hawkeyes finished with a 33-22-1 (21-9 Big Ten) record, third in the regular season standings, and missed out on the NCAA tournament for the second straight season.
The season was not a complete failure, but it left a bad taste in Iowa fans' mouths after the Hawkeyes were on top of the Big Ten standings for most of the season, but went 2-10-1 down the final stretch.
One player who excelled for the Hawkeyes all season was star lefty pitcher Cade Obermueller. After a stellar season for the Iowa pitching staff, Obermueller earned First Team All-Big Ten and All-Big Ten Tournament honors.
On Tuesday, Obermueller added two more awards to his trophy case.

On Tuesday, the Perfect Game organization announced that Obermueller earned a Third Team All-American selection.
Obermueller is the first pitcher to earn All-American honors since Brody Brecht and Keaton Anthony in 2023.
Obermueller had a solid season for the Hawkeyes, finishing 5-3 with a 3.02 earned run average in 15 starts. He also tallied 117 strikeouts in 83.1 innings, which ranks second all-time in Iowa program history.
