It is still very early in the recruitment process for the 2027 class, but the Hawkeyes have already snagged three in-state prospects.

Four-star prospects Jaxx DeJean (Odebolt) and Gavin Stecker (Bettendorf), along with three-star prospect Braylon Bingham (Pleasantville), have already committed to the program in the 2027 class.

After former Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell headed east to Penn State, Iowa has attempted to snag some of the program's former commits.

Next week, the Hawkeyes are trying to do just that by hosting a talented offensive lineman prospect who they initially offered before he originally committed to Iowa State.

The program is hosting four-star OL Will Slagle on Jan. 19

Iowa initially fell short of convincing Grinnell, Iowa native Will Slagle to join the program after the talented offensive lineman prospect committed to Iowa State.

After Campbell took the head coaching vacancy at Penn State, Slagle decommitted from the Cyclones and reopened his recruitment, giving the Hawkeyes another chance.

According to On3 Sports' Blair Sanderson, Slagle is scheduled to meet with the Iowa program on Monday, January 19.

Slagle just screams future Hawkeye with his size (six-foot-four, 280 pounds) and skill on the offensive line, and he is currently ranked as one of Iowa's top prospects in the 2027 recruiting class.

247Sports has ranked Slagle as a four-star prospect, Iowa's No. 1 overall prospect, the No. 10 overall interior offensive lineman, and the No. 197 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Rivals Industry has ranked Slagle as a four-star prospect, Iowa's No. 3 overall prospect, the No. 20 overall interior offensive lineman, and the No. 316 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Slagle has the chance to become the next star interior offensive lineman the Hawkeye program has produced, and he could make an impact from day one if he commits.
