More beef is coming to the offensive line in 2027!

After the Iowa offensive line earned the Joe Moore Award, given to the best offensive line unit in college football, the standard has been set, and the program is striving to continue the tradition.

The program added four talented offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting class, including four-star prospects Gene Riordan, Hudson Parliament, and Carson Nielsen, and the 2027 recruiting class is beginning to take off as well.

2027 in-state OL prospect Nate Brenneman has committed to Iowa

The 2027 recruiting class has grown exponentially over the past week as Iowa has added two talented prospects, including big offensive line prospect Reilly Newman.

After Newman's addition, Iowa has shifted their focus to adding more depth to the offensive line in the 2027 class, and picked up another big commitment from an in-state prospect.

Rock Valley, Iowa, native Nate Brenneman is headed to Iowa City after committing to the Hawkeyes over multiple Big Ten programs.

Brenneman quickly chose the Hawkeyes after receiving an offer in January, and even though he was scheduled to make an official visit to the program in June, he didn't wait that long to commit.

Brenneman is a two-way star for Rock Valley High School, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines, but he has the size (six-foot-seven, 250 pounds) that Iowa traditionally likes to plug in on the offensive line.

247Sports has currently ranked Brenneman as a three-star prospect, Iowa's No. 10 offensive lineman prospect, and the No. 72 offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.

Brenneman gives the Hawkeyes another big tackle prospect to pair with Newman in the 2027 class, and if he can add more weight and continue developing, he will compete for snaps early in his career.
