To be mentioned in the same breath as former Iowa legend Tim Dwight is a rare feat.
Dwight was a rare combination of speed and power, and had some of the best hands in all college football during his time with the Hawkeyes.
Dwight was a member of the Hawkeye football program from 1994 to 1997, tallying 2,075 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns as a receiver, but he was best remembered for his prowess in the return game.
Dwight racked up 2,192 total return yards (1,051 punt, 1,141 kick), and five return touchdowns.
Iowa always performs well on special teams and have a dynamic returner.
Cooper DeJean, Desmond King, and Tim Dwight are just a few names on a long list of successful returners from the University of Iowa, and the Hawkeyes have another one this season.
Senior Kaden Wetjen burst onto the scene last season, earning the Jet Award that is given to the best return specialist in college football.
Wetjen is repeating his performance this season, and to this point, is set to surpass his 2024 season.
During Iowa's dominating 41-3 win over rival Minnesota over the weekend, Wetjen put himself in rarified air after returning another punt for a touchdown.
Even crazier: Wetjen has 3️⃣ return scores in the last six games 🤯 pic.twitter.com/7vM63vW2Kp

After notching return touchdown No. 5 for his career, Wetjen tied Iowa great Tim Dwight for the most in Iowa program history.
Teams continue kicking to Wetjen, but the smart move is to kick it out of bounds or through the end zone so he cannot beat you.
Wetjen has cemented himself as one of the best returners in college football, and teams have to game-plan for him on offense and on special teams.
