Former Iowa standout and current Philadelphia Eagles' defensive back Cooper DeJean's stock continues to rise.
After three dynamic seasons with the Hawkeyes, DeJean decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
DeJean was hampered by a broken fibula that he suffered during a November 2024 practice while he was with the Iowa program, and could not participate in the NFL Draft Combine or any pre-Draft workouts while he was rehabbing.
He was highly ranked on most Draft boards, but slipped due to his injury.
The Philadelphia Eagles finally selected the Iowa star with the No. 40 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and he made an immediate impact.
In 2023, the Eagles' defense was porous against the pass, and they were ranked No. 31 in passing yards allowed per game. The Eagles addressed that by drafting Quinyon Mitchell (round one, pick No. 22) and DeJean.
With DeJean's help, the Eagles went from No. 31 in passing yards allowed in 2023 to No. 1 in passing yards allowed in 2024, and leaned on their defense for their Super Bowl run.
Ahead of next season, DeJean is being recognized as one of the top players in the NFL.

DeJean checked in at No. 60 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2025 list following his solid rookie campaign.
As DeJean continues to improve, the Eagles are continuing to find ways to keep their future star on the field.
During the first day of training camp, DeJean was seen playing his normal slot cornerback position, but was also seen playing safety in five-down lineman sets.
Eagles' defensive coordinator Vic Fangio is high on DeJean, and wants to keep him on the field at all times.
If DeJean can continue to improve on his solid rookie season, he will climb higher on the NFL's Top 100 Players list.
