Mamma, there goes that man!

There is a reason why speedster Kaden Wetjen was given the nickname "The Jet" by his teammates and coaches.

While his name does have the word "jet" in it, he is also as fast as a jet when he gets the ball in his hands and into open space.

Wetjen is also the reigning Jet Award winner, given to the best return specialist in college football. Last season, he compiled 1,055 combined return yards and two touchdowns, and is well on his way to surpassing those totals this season.

Wetjen and the Iowa return unit started the season off slowly, but the group has turned it around over the past few games.

During Iowa's dominating 47-7 win over UMass on September 13, Wetjen tallied a combined 216 return yards and a touchdown. His 216 combined return yards were a career-high.

After his performance against UMass, Wetjen was named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week award winner heading into a short week against Rutgers last Friday night.

Wetjen had another electrifying performance in the return game against Rutgers last Friday night and was recently named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Wetjen got the scoring started early against Rutgers as he returned the opening kickoff from the Iowa goal line to the opposite end for a touchdown. He also had another electrifying run right before halftime that fell just short of another return touchdown.

Overall, Wetjen had a combined 167 return yards (124 kick return, 43 punt return) during the 38-28 win over Rutgers, including a touchdown.

He was once again named the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week as he looks to continue his run of spectacular play in the return game.
