Iowa Women's Basketball is back at home following a successful WBCA Showcase in Orlando over the weekend.

Last Thursday, Ava Heiden's big night gave the Hawkeyes an upset victory over No. 7 Baylor in a low-scoring, gritty matchup in their first game.

During their second game on Saturday night, the Hawkeyes led from start to finish against Miami, even though they had a near-nine-minute stretch of play in the second half without a field goal.

After Saturday's victory over Miami, Heiden was named the Showcase's MVP, averaging 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in Orlando.

During the win over No. 7 Baylor, starting point guard Chit-Chat Wright was injured after a hard fall, and Head Coach Jan Jensen gave an update when the team returned home.

According to the Des Moines Register's Dargan Southard, Wright's status remains unclear after Head Coach Jan Jensen gave an update on Monday morning.

In a Zoom meeting after Iowa returned home from Orlando, Jensen stated that Chit-Chat is "still pretty sore" after taking a hard fall in the game against Oregon.

Wright was down for several minutes as the training staff attended to her.

Jensen also mentioned that the fall affected Wright's neck, head, shoulders, and back, creating a full workload for the training staff.

Jensen hopes to provide a more in-depth update sooner rather than later, but Wright's status for Wednesday's game against Western Illinois remains unknown.

If Wright misses another game, Taylor Stremlow and Addie Deal are projected to soak up those minutes until she gets healthy.
