Even though the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes upset No. 7 Baylor in their first game of the WBCA State Farm Showcase tournament in Orlando on Thursday night, they lost a key member of the team.
Starting point guard Chit-Chat Wright went down hard after a foul in the early stages of the third quarter on Thursday night against Baylor.
After staying down for several minutes while being attended to by the training staff, Wright was helped off the court by two Iowa staffers and did not return to the game.
Wright tallied five points and two assists in 19 minutes before being forced out of the game.
After the emotional upset win, Jan Jensen gave a small update on Wright's injury status before Iowa takes on Miami (FL) in their second game of the tournament on Saturday night.
Jan Jensen said on postgame radio that Chit-Chat Wright won't play Saturday vs. Miami. Hurricanes do a ton of pressing, so no exactly ideal for the #Hawkeyes.

According to Des Moines Register reporter Dargan Southard, during a postgame radio interview, Head Coach Jan Jensen stated that Wright will not play against Miami (FL) on Saturday.
Jensen did not provide a detailed description of the injury or timeline for recovery, only that Wright is out for their next game.
This is a big blow to the Hawkeyes as Wright was Iowa's leading scorer (14.5) and assist leader (7.8) heading into the game against Baylor.
After Wright went out, Jensen turned to Taylor Stremlow and Addie Deal to make up the minutes, and they could play a larger role on Saturday and in the future if Wright spends an extended time on the sidelines.
