Iowa's aggressive pursuit of guard depth has ramped up since the transfer portal window opened.
After finishing with a 27-7 overall record and a trip to the NCAA Tournament last season, Iowa women's basketball has experienced some uncharacteristic roster turnover.
Jensen's squad is down to six players after five entered the transfer portal and four graduated, and the program has been actively pursuing players in the portal to fill those roster gaps.
With meetings scheduled this weekend with two potential transfers, Jensen and her staff are not stopping there, and they are scheduling another visit next week with a prolific scorer with whom the program is familiar.
Iowa will reportedly meet with transfer Raegan McCowan next week
Iowa's transfer portal strategy has become very obvious after most of the players they have talked to have been guards. With that theme in mind, the program has reportedly scheduled a meeting with a high-volume scorer.
Western Illinois’ Raegan McCowan will be visiting Iowa on Monday/Tuesday. Averaged 17 ppg last season before an elbow (non-shooting arm) injury ended her season. Third in the nation in scoring among freshmen two seasons ago, fourth among sophs in 24-25. Has 2 years of eligibility

According to the Associated Press' Jon Bohnenkamp, Western Illinois transfer guard Raegan McCowan is scheduled to visit Iowa City early next week.
McCowan was one of the most prolific scorers in the country as a sophomore, averaging 22.3 points per game on 46.5 percent shooting from the field and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc, and was poised to take a huge step last season.
Unfortunately for McCowan, she suffered a season-ending elbow injury after 10 games last season, including one against Iowa early in the season. In the game against the Hawkeyes at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, she finished with 16 points in 21 minutes.
In 10 games last season, McCowan averaged 17.0 points on 47.8 percent shooting from the field and added 6.4 rebounds per game for the Leathernecks.
McCowan can either start or come off the bench and provide an instant scoring boost for the offense, something Iowa desperately needs.
