Jan Jensen continues her aggressive 2029 push by offering a rising guard prospect

It has been an extremely busy few weeks for Jan Jensen and Iowa women's basketball on the recruiting trail.

Jensen and her staff have ramped up efforts in the 2029 class, offering a handful of players over the past few weeks. They are getting an early jump on some of the best prospects in the class, including Kristen Winston (No. 1 overall), Harper Winter (No. 15 overall), and Paisley Hogan (No. 2 Arkansas). Iowa's recruiting strategy remains extremely obvious as the summer rolls on, as the program gets an early jump on the 2029 class.

That aggressive 2029 strategy continued with another offer going to a talented combo guard.

Rising 2029 CG prospect Jojo Martin added an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa has been actively addressing one of the clear program needs with its latest group of offers: guard depth. The Hawkeyes lost five players to the transfer portal after last season (all guards), and scrambled to add more depth this offseason. The Hawkeyes might benefit from an added year of eligibility with the new five-year, age-based rule, but that hasn't stopped them from aggressively trying to add more depth.

Rising 2029 combo guard Jojo Martin recently received an offer from the Hawkeyes, adding the program to a growing list of offers from big-time programs. Prep Girls Hoops currently ranks Martin as Colorado's No. 2 overall player in the class after she had a dynamic freshman season for Standley Lake High School in Westminster, Colorado. According to MaxPreps, the talented combo guard averaged 23.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.5 steals, and 3.6 steals per game last season. She also shot an impressive 58 percent from the floor.

Martin is known for her tremendous motor and work ethic, and she excels at getting to the rim and finishing down low. She does most of her damage on the inside on cuts and dribble-drives to the hoop, but she has displayed a decent long-range jump shot as well. In a few of the highlights from her freshman season, she was always in motion either with or without the ball, and she works extremely hard to get the best shot possible.

Martin is also a solid rebounder for her size (five-foot-ten), averaging nearly double-digits last season. She does a little bit of everything, and every program needs a player like Martin who has a seemingly unlimited motor. If the Hawkeyes sign her, she has the potential to play both guard spots and potentially the small forward with her size and versatility. Martin has multiple intangibles that you can't teach, and she would make an excellent addition to the Hawkeyes in the 2029 class.
