Under the tutelage of former Head Coach Lisa Bluder and current Head Coach Jan Jensen, the Iowa Women's Basketball program has had sustained success.
Jensen has guided the Hawkeyes to 22 postseason appearances, including 18 NCAA Tournament berths. Iowa has also made the NCAA Tournament for seven consecutive seasons.
She has also helped guide Iowa to Big Ten Titles in 2001, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024, with regular-season titles in 2008 and 2022.
The Hawkeyes also made back-to-back National Championship game appearances in 2023 and 2024.
A significant part of the Hawkeye program's success has been its guard play. Samantha Logic, Lucy Olsen, and the G.O.A.T., Caitlin Clark, have paved the way for the program's success from the guard position.
Replacing star guards is never easy, and the Hawkeyes are searching for their next standout.
Guard Addie Deal recently joined the team and looks ready to contribute immediately next season. She is the first high-profile guard prospect to commit to the program since Clark joined in 2020.
Jensen and her staff have made offers to multiple guard prospects in future classes, including a recent offer to an intriguing 2029 Illinois prospect.
Blessed to have received an offer from @goiowa and @IowaWBB Thank you for an amazing visit. All Glory to God! pic.twitter.com/ePNx5zWqvP

Liv Johnson is a 2029 combo guard prospect from Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois. She also plays club basketball for the All Iowa Attack, the same team that 2028 prospect Kinsley Ketterhagen plays for.
Johnson picked up an offer from the Iowa program after making an unofficial visit to Iowa City.
The 2029 does not currently have rankings, but Prep Girls Hoops considers her as one of the best prospects in the class.
They noted she has a tremendous skill set, and she is no where near done growing.
