The Washington Mystics (8-8) entered Thursday night's game against the Las Vegas Aces (7-8) on a three-game winning streak, following victories against the Chicago Sky, Dallas Wings, and the No. 1 seed Minnesota Lynx.

The victory against the Lynx was earned without star guard Brittney Sykes, who suffered an injury in the win over the Dallas Wings and was ruled out for the game against the Aces.

Sykes is averaging a team-leading 19.5 points per game with 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

The Aces have been scuffling, falling to No. 5 in the Western Conference and No. 8 overall, a far cry from where they have been over the past few seasons.

The Aces leaned on their superstar A'ja Wilson, but it was not enough as they fell to the Mystics on Thursday night.

In the Mystics surprising win over the Aces, former Hawkeye Lucy Olsen showed out in a big way.

In 13 games this season, Olsen was averaging 3.2 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, but blew all of those stats out of the water on Thursday night.

In the Mystics' 94-83 win over the Aces, Olsen had a career-high 14 points with four rebounds and three assists in 37 minutes off the bench. She shot 42 percent from the field, nailed three three-point baskets, and was a crucial piece off the bench for the Mystics.

Fellow rookie Sonia Citron led the way for the Mystics with 21 points and continued to show why she is among the favorites for the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award.

Sug Sutton added 17 points and five assists, and Shakira Austin notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds to guide the Mystics to victory.

After notching their fourth consecutive win, the Mystics travel to Texas to take on the Dallas Wings on Saturday, June 28, at 7:00 p.m. Central Time.
