The Iowa Women's Basketball team had a solid year one under Head Coach Jan Jensen. After serving as a long-time assistant Head Coach under Lisa Bluder, Jensen took the reins and guided her team to a 23-11 (10-8 Big Ten) record.

Jensen was gifted with a solid senior class, led by Villanova transfer Lucy Olsen. Olsen starred in her only season with the Hawkeyes, leading them in points (17.9) and assists (5.1).

After the Washington Mystics drafted Olsen with the No. 23 overall pick, and seniors Sydney Affolter, AJ Ediger, and Addison O'Grady graduated, the Hawkeyes are entering a new era.

On Wednesday, the Hawkeyes learned their 18-game conference schedule in year two under Jan Jensen.

Iowa plays all 18 Big Ten teams once, and plays rival Nebraska at home and away. Iowa has a tough away slate, playing three of the top five teams from a year ago on the road.

Iowa faces the tough task of replacing its leading scorer, Lucy Olsen, and its three other senior leaders. They have a solid 2025 recruiting class heading to Iowa City, including five-star prospect Addie Deal, and four-star prospects Layla Hays and Journey Houston.

The Hawkeyes are returning starter Hannah Stuelke and key contributors Taylor McCabe, Ava Heiden, and Taylor Stemlow. Senior Kylie Feuerbach also announced she is returning for a fifth season with the Hawkeyes.

Iowa also added Georgia Tech transfer guard Chazadi "Chit-Chat" Wright from the transfer portal.

After Jensen's first year guiding the Hawkeyes, the program is garnering some love. In ESPN's way-too-early projections for 2025-2026, they ranked Iowa No.18 to start the season.

The Hawkeyes have the personnel to make noise in the Big Ten, but they must live up to the hype in Jensen's second year.
