The Hawkeyes have crashed back to earth after flying high over the past two weeks.
Iowa was on an eight-game winning streak and was sitting on top of the Big Ten Conference standings until its recent struggles on the West Coast.
Jan Jensen and her squad traveled to California hoping to at least win one of the two games, and everything went sideways.
After dropping both games to USC and No. 2 UCLA, the Hawkeyes also dropped two places in the top 25 standings.

Iowa made an expected drop in the rankings after a poor two-game road trip, but it is still ranked in the top 10 in women's college basketball.

Iowa is now positioned at No. 10, just behind two fellow Big Ten programs, Michigan and Ohio State, and just ahead of Oklahoma.
During Iowa's two-game losing streak, the squad averaged 67.0 points per game on 42 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent from three-point range.
All three averages were well below the squad's overall season averages of 79.7 points per game, 48.7 percent shooting from the field, and 36 percent from three-point range.
Iowa's schedule does not get any easier with matchups against rivals Minnesota and Nebraska, and a top-25 matchup against Washington.
The Hawkeyes must find a way to steady the ship without senior leader Taylor McCabe, who is out with a season-ending ACL injury, and key reserve Emely Rodriguez, who has not played in several months.
Even though Iowa is down after two straight losses, it has time to refocus and get back on track before a crucial stretch of games.
