Jan Jensen's squad is going to look very different next season.
After guiding Iowa to a 27-7 overall record and another NCAA Tournament appearance, Jensen couldn't get the Hawkeyes out of the second round, falling flat to 10-seed Virginia.
The worst part about the early exit is that multiple players are leaving the program via graduation or entering the transfer portal.
Iowa is already down seven players (four graduating, three in the transfer portal), and that number is going up after another depth player announced she is entering the transfer portal with a "do not contact" tag.
G/F Teagan Mallegni has entered the transfer portal
Through the first few hours of the transfer portal, Iowa officially lost Kennise Johnson, Addie Deal, and Callie Levin, and now Teagan Mallegni is joining them.

Mallegni was seldom used this season and has been primarily a reserve since joining the program.
Before joining the Hawkeyes, Mallegni was a decorated high school prospect, holding school records at McFarland High School in McFarland, Wisconsin, for all-time points, most points in a season, and most points in a game (62).
Mallegni was ranked as Wisconsin's No. 2 overall prospect, and she was the No. 64 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class.
Mallegni played in 45 total games for the Hawkeyes, averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds.
The women's basketball transfer portal opened at midnight on Sunday, April 6, and closes on April 20. Jan Jensen and the program have a lot of work to do in the transfer portal, with six players from last season remaining and one recruit coming in.
